The YMCA in Clarksville Tennessee is planning to remove a 100+ year old oak tree in order to provide a larger parking area at its Hillcrest Drive campus. We appreciate the YMCA and recognize the need for parking, but believe many of the trees can be preserved to promote a "green space parking area".
At a minimum, we would request that the YMCA put this decision on hold long enough to gain input from all stake holders.
The citizens of Clarksville believe that responsible development incorporates green space, family areas, and the preservation of Clarksville's history.
