Save Wholefoods

We, the undersigned, wish to affirm our support for Wholefoods Restaurant to operate on a not-for-profit basis, to provide outstanding vegetarian, vegan, and predominantly organic food and drink, and to encourage volunteerism with an egalitarian operating structure.

Therefore, we, the undersigned:
Petition the Monash Student Council (MSC) to comply with its own constitution: to allow Wholefoods to operate with a non-hierarchical collective, using a consensus-based decision making process on a not-for profit philosophy.
Consider that directives from outside Wholefoods on food-item pricing, directives on staff rostering, purchasing and day-to-day operations are contrary to this decision-making philosophy.
Call for a Student General Meeting to be held in accordance with Part 4, Section 9(2) of the Monash Student Association (Clayton) Incorporated (MSA) Constitution to enact and enforce these special resolutions as the first order of business, and, if required, enact constitutional amendments to these effects through referenda.
Require that the following questions be put: Do you agree to change the Monash Student Association Constitution to insert in Part 3, Section 6 as a subsection:(4) the Wholefoods Restaurant, and following that: Do you agree to change the Monash Student Association Constitution to insert in Part 3, Section 7 as a subsection (4) Wholefoods Restaurant as the body within the MSA that represents Wholefoods Restaurant.
Require that the MSC must set as the following, the dates, and place of the SGM: between Monday & Thursday, 2rd August, 2010 to 22nd August, 2010, in the airport lounge of the campus centre.
Hereby give permission for Monash University to release the details of our enrolment to the Business Manager of the MSA and her/his staff for the purpose of determining our eligibility to make this petition.
