Say NO to Killer Coke!

We, the undersigned members of the University of Massachusetts Amherst community, demand that the University rescind its exclusive pouring rights contract with the Coca-Cola Company.

Overwhelming evidence finds the Coca-Cola Company responsible for a litany of environmental, labor and human rights abuses and crimes in communities around the world. These abuses include the grossly irresponsible drainage and pollution of public groundwater in India; the complicity of Coca-Cola bottlers in the torture, kidnap and murder of union members in Colombia; high levels of cancer-causing agents and high levels of pesticide in Dasani Water, Coke and Vitamin Water which led to government recalls in the UK and India. Coca-Cola continues to evade responsibility and accountability for its actions.
Therefore we stand in solidarity with a growing number of colleges, universities and organizations worldwide, including our sister campuses Smith College and Hampshire College, that have chosen alternatives to Coca-Cola.
