Who likes Pilot Bay just the way it is? Because it is all about to change with a GREAT BIG Board-walk!! We have a chance to make a stand.

The council vote was 10-1 in favour of calling tenders for the construction of the board walk, with only councillor Catherine Stewart opposed on the grounds it would be too wide.
The Port of Tauranga's contribution was critical to the project's going ahead after the council agreed earlier this year to restrict itself to spending $295,000 to improve Pilot Bay's grassy foreshore by a "combination of treatments". Once the board walk is finished by the middle of next year, it will create a direct link along the scenic foreshore for cruise ship passengers walking to Mauao.
We all know that Tourism is important to the area, BUT of equal importance is the joy that the locals and visitors alike have enjoyed on Pilot Bay for decades, in it's NATURAL STATE
SO...Calling all families in the area...Please meet us at PILOT Bay on St Patricks Day, 17th March at 4pm on the grassed area close to the wharf and let us tell our Council THAT WE DO NOT WANT the BOARD WALK....Keep it GREEN.
