On March 31st 1995, the world lost someone special. A beautiful and talented Tejana named Selena.
On March 21st 1997, those who knew her, as well as those who didn't, watched the story of this woman unfold before their very eyes in a touching tribute to her, her life on the big screen in the biographical movie, SELENA.
On September 23rd 1997, we rented this movie, waiting for it to be available for purchase. Finally, that day came, but with a problem. Some of us bought the first release, the one without the Astrodome footage at the end, and ended up buying yet another copy of this movie, simply for the concert footage. We thought that was it, we have the movie now, it's part of our Selena collections.
When TV stations began airing "Selena", we noticed certain scenes on TV that were not on our videos, such as Selena being teased in school as a child, Marcella cleaning a patio, Abraham looking for work, the EMI-Latin phone call and the full version of "No Me Queda Mбs" in concert.
When DVD began taking off, many of us purchased this newer version of the movie, hoping, yet again, that we would find the missing scenes and the Astrodome footage. However, these two items were not to be found on the DVD.
This petition is to get a new and FINAL version of the movie released. Perhaps without the Astrodome footage since a video/DVD of the whole concert is in the works, but with the deleted scenes, as we've scene on TV.
