Ao corpo administrativo da Igreja Manб e entidades vigentes,
Nos ъltimos dias foi dado a conhecer aos Portugueses que um dos maiores espectбculos do mundo estб prestes a ser invalidado. Madonna tinha confirmado a sua presenзa no Pavilhгo Atlвntico no dia 12 de Setembro hб algumas semanas. Entretanto surgiram notнcias de que a Igreja Manб tinha marcado as datas anteriores ao concerto para o 20є aniversбrio da organizaзгo, de dia 8 a 11 de Setembro.
No entanto, para que o espectбculo de Madonna tenha lugar no nosso paнs, й imperativa a disponibilidade do recinto a partir do dia 9 de Setembro. A razгo de tal adiantamento deve-se а necessidade de ensaios para a gravaзгo de um DVD ao vivo e de um videoclip. Caso essas datas nгo sejam liberadas nada disto acontecerб, como confirmou Ricardo Casimiro da Tournйe, promotora e organizadora do evento, pois o Pavilhгo Atlвntico й o ъnico espaзo no paнs que pode embargar a grande produзгo de todo o espectбculo.
Por isso, em nome dos fгs de Madonna e de todo o pъblico portuguкs (e estrangeiro que se deslocaria ao nosso paнs para o concerto), pedimos que reconsiderem a proposta feita pela Tournйe para a mudanзa da vossa convenзгo para o Centro de Congressos de Lisboa, um local perfeitamente capaz de albergar as condiзхes necessбrias para tal evento e onde jб se deram importantes encontros e reuniхes como a ъltima Convenзгo Europeia. Seria vital a vossa solidariedade e o vosso Patriotismo jб que este evento nгo se restringe a um mero concerto. Й um espectбculo de grandes dimensхes, o maior a nнvel mundial, que tomaria lugar em Portugal e nгo em Espanha, Itбlia, Suнзa, Alemanha ou outro grande paнs da Europa. Seria um evento а escala internacional que juntamente com a gravaзгo do DVD e do videoclip traria um grande prestнgio ao nosso paнs e a elevaзгo da nossa identidade cultural.
Temos todo o respeito pela Convenзгo de Fй, a perfeita noзгo de que й um evento de grande importвncia e de que a Igreja Manб tem o pleno direito de usufruir da sua reserva: mas a Igreja Manб tem um outro local, de excelentes condiзхes, onde o pode realizar; o concerto nгo.
Tudo depende da vossa decisгo e de um pequeno mas valoroso esforзo da vossa parte. Ficaremos decerto imensamente agradecidos.

To the direction of Manб Church,
In the last few days it was announced to the Portuguese audience that one of the greatest shows in the world is on the verge of being cancelled. Madonna had already confirmed her presence in the Atlantic Pavilion in Lisbon, on 12th September a few weeks ago. Meanwhile news reports arose saying that the Manб Church booked the venue for their 20th anniversary, from 8th to 11th September.
The problem is that Madonnas show in Portugal would have to occupy the Pavilion in the days before the concert (since 9th). The reason would be the necessity for rehearsals concerning the filming and recording of the show for a DVD release and a music video. Unless those dates are released to Madonnas crew and management the concert would be indeed cancelled for good as Ricardo Casimiro from Tournйe, the tour promoter, informed in a press conference, because the Atlantic Pavilion is the only space in the country that can provide the condition required for this great production
In consequence of that, and speaking in the name of all Madonna fans and the Portuguese audience (and foreign audiences that would travel to Portugal to see this concert), we ask you to reconsider the proposal made by Tournйe concerning the venue change of your convention to the Centro de Congressos de Lisboa, a place that can perfectly shelter and respond to your needs and where there have already been important meetings and reunions like the European Convention. It would be vital that you would be able to be a little patient and show solidarity as this is not a simple concert. Its a spectacle that chose Portugal to take place instead of many other countries. It would be an international event that along with the recording of the DVD and the music video would bring great prestige to Portugal and would elevate our cultural identity, allowing other events of the same origin to take place in our country.
We have a profound respect for the Faith Convention, the sincere notion that its an event of great importance and that the Manб Church has every right to use its reservation: but the Manб Church has another excellent place that can provide every necessity required; the concert cant take place anywhere else.
It all depends on your decision and valuable effort to make this work for everyone. We will be immensely grateful.
