I start this petition because I have no faith in the games consoles of today. With such short market lives it seems impossible to manage to play more than one game from the same series on a console before it's sold out and another has taken its place.
I really enjoyed the Sega-AM2 game Shenmue for Dreamcast but once again as the Dreamcast began to flail into the unknown the second game of the series became multi platformed to compensate, being introduced to Xbox fans as well. Now, hearing snippets of news about the production of Shenmue 3, fans can only be sure the game will be released for Xbox alone.
What I'd like to know is why the game series has never been released for the PC. Not only are their PC users in their absolute millions all over the world who are just as enthusiastic for games as consolers, but there is also the fact that PC's just won't die out like consoles always do.
I know there are millions of Shenmue fans who just aren't going to be able to play the third installment due to the fact that they don't have an Xbox. Add to that that buying one now, at a time when the PS2 reigns supreme and the Xbox's future looks decidedly iffy, would be very risky and it looks like fans of the original don't have a chance. The amazing thing is though that most owners of any games console have access to a PC within their own houses as PC's are just so common today.
I propose that somewhere along the line the Shenmue series is developed for PC as I know there are millions of us out there who would be interested in purchasing it. Even if it's only the third game of the trio that makes it to us PC users. All those who agree sign below and then it's over to you Sega....
