The families of and vistors to Southampton, New York deserve better choices when it comes to buying quality groceries at a fair price.
The advancement and development of this area over the last 20 years has not translated to our choices for progressive, healthy, quality and cost-effective groceries.
It is the goal of this online petition to attract The Trader Joes Company to build one of their unique supermarkets in our community.
The fact that the Southampton McDonalds is the most profitable in the United States and that our 7-11 serves more coffee than any single 7-11 outlet in the country makes our town a credible, if not ideal region in which to focus.

At Trader Joe's, our mission is to bring our customers the best food and beverage values and the information to make informed buying decisions. There are more than 2000 unique grocery items in our label, all at honest everyday low prices. We work hard at buying things right: Our buyers travel the world searching for new items and we work with a variety of suppliers who make interesting products for us, many of them exclusive to Trader Joes. All our private label products have their own "angle," i.e., vegetarian, Kosher, organic or just plain decadent, and all have minimally processed ingredients.
So won't you please join us in this first step of trying to make a difference. We believe the benefit to the community will be enormous, especially in light of the fact that one of two major supermarkets in our village has announced plans to close.
