To whom it may concern,
I have put together this petition in the hope that it will be brought to your attention in order to pass a bill to make battery farm hens laying eggs illegal.
This type of farming is very unfair and is very cruel to the hens involved. Each hen is put in a cage no larger than it's body. The hen cannot stand up, nor turn around due to the size. At one end of the cage is the food, and the other is a hole where the eggs come out of the cage and are gathered together to be sold on the supermarket shelves.
I find this very cruel, and it is now very difficult to recognise "free-range" eggs in our stores. Please make this type of farming illegal in the United Kingdom.
