Stop Sony Copy Protection Software!

We, the undersigned, are upset with The Sony Corporations solutions to online piracy. We, as legitimate purchasers of music request the following:





The technology currently in use is comparable to spyware. It installs itself with minimal, or no user consent, and the cloaks itself to prevent removal. It has even been determined as spyware by security vendor Computer Associates. The lack of a clear end-user licensing agreement ( EULA) is a clear trait of spyware-like behavior. While Sony has sent out patches and uninstallers which Sony claims fixes the problems, in fact that software can be considered to be spyware too.





We contend "This isn't an issue about artists' rights, it's an issue about users' rights." and Sony has gone too far.





We are so sickened by this technology and similar technologies currently in use by Sony for copyright protection purposes, we demand Sony cease and desist from using this technology, and all other similar technology immediately.
