We the people of Canada believe that a peaceful revolution is the only way to continue to sustain the human race, and thus believe we can revolutionize the Canadian Government into the best society on our beautiful green Planet.

I believe in the greater good, and I believe that we as a collective can make a historical change in the way societies are run.

An Essay - My own thoughts, non-factual, raw, thoughts. Question what you are told, question who you are, question where you live, what you pay, who you pay and WHY you pay. Question the government, question the corporations. BELIEVE as a whole we can be bigger and better than anything this world has ever seen.

THE CANADIAN DREAM
In a time of global unrest, and political upheaval.

I, as a truly proud and strong Canadian citizen, encourage the people of Canada to re-evaluate your values, political system, societal structure and the capitalistic system.

As the world churns in turmoil from economic downturns, wars, and revolutions, I plead that all Canadians look closely at the identity of the nation they belong to.

We are a first world country in which the rich become richer, and the poor become poorer, our system is built to work this way. They have tried to sell us the American Dream - And guess what, we arent buying it. We are, in fact, quite over it.

We are friendly, outgoing, hard working, hard playing, tree hugging, beer chugging, pot smoking, polite, radical, and friendly country. We have our own beliefs, our own wants, and our own dreams. As far as I can tell the younger generations are no longer after the American dream, weve been robbed of our Dream by giant corporations that dont value us, yet expect us to value them. Show up for work any day of the week that we demand, put in your eight hours of work, pick up overtime when we need it, put your life on hold and do your 45 years, and when our stock prices drop were going to lay you off, oh and those benefits, pay raises, and the respect you thought you might get? Fight for them, or get lost. No high school education? Better sign up in the line up that will make sure youre working past retirement age.

Millions of Canadians go without pensions or RRSPs, and now were being told that by the time were old enough to retire we will not be given our CCP payments. I have been paying into other Canadians CCPs for years, and I dont know about everyone else but I want mine! Last year I as a middle class, blue collared worker was taxed/deducted 33\% of my income, and struggle every month to pay my bills, mortgage and car payments, Im not saying Im hard done by, but when have we given enough for the little that we get back?

Now, this isnt about the middle or lower classes being hard done by, but it sure as hell should be about CEOs, board members, share holders, and anyone else who takes a bigger slice of the pie than they rightfully deserve.
Everyone looks at royalty as if it is a thing of the past, the upper class, high society, those with it all, did not in fact mysteriously disappear with the industrial revolution; we just renamed them to CEO Entrepreneurs and Share holders then went on to justify this gluttony and abuse of the middle working class as Capitalism. Why does your CEO get to come to work and make the same wage that you make in a YEAR in two days? Is he really that much more valuable than you are? Is his life, for some strange reason, of a higher value than yours? Doubtful. Strip everyone down to the basics and we are all just people with the same wants, dreams, and needs.

There are homeless citizens across the country begging for food, clothing and shelter on a daily basis; while the rich sit on their piles of cash, buying second, third, fourth and fifth homes, and occasionally (with much bravado, mind you) hand out some of their change to the needy, and accept their pats on the back like theyve done something marvellous for mankind. The wonderful middle class donate, contribute, volunteer and give back on a large scale with the limited resources that they have; strength in numbers my friends! I respect someone who goes out and digs in the mud and plants a hundred trees over some (overly whitened) smiling King shaking the hand of a man holding one of those obnoxiously large cheques.

Dont get me wrong, the middle and lower classes dont get off scotch free. Were all wasteful to some degree, unless youre a super human who has found a second use for plastic wrappers; Im guilty of throwing out precious food, wasting water, over using electricity, oh and my hundred kilometres a day commute? Not so good. That being said, I also was never taught differently, no one told me that we were slowly raping the earth, and depleting her ability to then return the things we need for life to us.

I also could not get a job in the town that I live in that would pay my bills. I would have to work two jobs, and so would my Husband. My first mortgage is seven times the size of my parents, and its a little shoe box condo in a small town. You think really hard about that sentence and try and tell me theres nothing wrong with the system.

What do I do though? Quit my job and stay at home? Id love to, but how? Who will pay my bills? Isnt it true that really, we have no right to our lives unless we are willing to pay for them? Tomorrow, could you as a human being get up in the morning and produce enough food to sustain yourself? Probably not, and most of us wouldnt know where to start. Not only has capitalism robbed us of our eight hours a day, but we are utterly useless as a species on this earth. In the event of a global food shortage few would survive for lack of knowledge. Also remember that if you miss enough payments, some company with too much time and money, that is lining the pockets of someone who already has enough, will come and take everything you have ever earned.

My life, as a human being and creature on this planet should have as much right to have as much as everyone else has, and you know what? If that meant that I had LESS then so be it! Most of us have too much anyways, and lack in the things we really need such as Quality time at home with your family, the time to further our educations, watch our kids grow up, HAVE kids, love, live, laugh and grow as people; instead of robots in a capitalistic machine. When was the last time most of us had an hour to sit down and meditate on ourselves and who we are? Your big screen TV sure isnt going to tuck you into bed at night. Think that maybe the system was designed that way? God forbid any of us be free thinking peoples instead of baaing money makers for our nobles.

It enables the rich, disables the poor, and turns the working middle class into peasants and slaves surviving on what the rich deem a good enough hand out to keep us happy and our mouths shut.

Canada is a Democratic country. We have time and time again in the past ten years failed to elect a government that is strong enough to maintain the status of the official government of Canada. Why? Why oh why could that be? Could it be theyre all corrupt, crooked, criminals, which misuse our tax money in order to do what lobby groups strongly recommend followed by a generous donation? Nah... that couldnt be it. Maybe we keep voting in failing parties because none of them are forward thinking, truthful, honest, hard working Canadians like the rest of us. They schmooze in their business suits, build fake lakes for overly exuberant summits, pay off large corporations, and sign away Canadas soul and spirit under American political pressures while the rest of us can do nothing but sit and watch in anger and sadness.

This is not the Canada I want; this is not the world that we need to be to continue on as a human race. It is time for one nation on this planet to start doing things right and it needs to start right here at home in Canada. Start giving the honest working people what they deserve, the right to basic needs being fulfilled without turning our lives over to corporations. Bring back small town businesses, affordable housing, affordable food, the right to own some land, the right to be a parent for more than the first year of your childrens life, and the right, should you wish it, not to work every day for some soulless corporation.

Canada, stand up for what you believe in.

Believe in the fact that only as a whole can we make things better. It is time to take the power away from the few at the top who ensure we will always be at the bottom struggling to make them more dollars and cents while barely sustaining ourselves, and brainwashed to always want more.

Believe in change.

Believe in yourself.

Believe in the human race.

And most of all, believe that we the people of Canada can be the first nation to put the right foot forward and set an example for all the other peoples of earth.

It is time for a country to step forward and say were going to do this whole society, government and monetary system properly, and that means everyone gets a say, and everyone gets a slice of the pie. No more corrupted governments, no more crappy trade deals, no more overpriced housing, food, fuel, clothing, and land. No more getting ripped off by a company that considers you a number and a cog in their money making machine.

We as the people of Canada demand the right to our lives, and the right to live them as free people not bound to the purse-strings of the elite few who thrive on the current system.

Canada, I love you and believe in you, and it is time we start believing in ourselves.

If this reads to you like a layman then well, youre right, but that doesnt make me an imbecile who doesnt know theyre getting a rotten deal.
To that top 2\% who sit on all of our hard earned wealth, theres a storm coming and its called the peasants.

Collective ownership is not a bad thing! Its only bad because they tell you it is, and because theyve raised you to want more, to have better things, and collect more stuff in turn spending more money and lining their pockets. We teach our children to share; shouldnt we follow our own advice?
