Urge McKinney and Nader to Unite Progressives

Dear Presidential Candidates Cynthia McKinney and Ralph Nader,

As progressive Americans, we have deep respect for your platforms and your values. We write to you because we are greatly concerned about this election. We really cannot afford McCain and Palin as our President and Vice President.

We are steadfast, progressive voters who vote with our conscience and our values. In this election, we have to move past our idealistic visions for the reality that presents itself in this election.

We URGE you to suspend your candidacy for this election and to urge your supporters to vote for OBAMA. We also urge you to ask the same of your fellow party candidates, particularly in tight races between the Democrats and the Republicans. We agree that Obama and the other Democratic candidates are not as progressive as you--or we--would like; however, we just cannot live with 4 more years of Bush-style policies.

With all there is to risk, we cant afford the progressive vote to be fractioned into losing the election to the GOP!

IMAGINE the press coverage that the progressive vote will earn by uniting around the Obama ticket and gaining the edge needed to move our country forward in a progressive direction.

In order to work on changing the electoral process to give smaller parties a better chance of winning, we need the right environment. The GOP is NOT that environment. Our voices are more likely to be heard and elevated under Democratic leadership.
