It is Veronica Mars fans understanding that the Nine network own the rights to show Veronica Mars in Australia.
The show is already gaining a somewhat cult fan base in Australia that is growing. Fans come from many different states and age groups. We as fans believe that the show deserves to be screened on Australian television. We hope that other Australians can be given the opportunity to enjoy what we believe is an excellent television show.
As your network should be aware, Veronica Mars has been critically acclaimed in the United States. Its second season is scheduled to air there when ratings season begins and DVDs are scheduled for release in the US this year.
Due to the difficulties associated with obtaining the DVDs from America, we believe that it is important for the show to be screened in Australia so that a wider audience can appreciate it. We are aware that your network can find difficulties in getting high ratings for cult hit shows, but we believe that, given a chance, Veronica Mars could be very successful on Australian television.
Veronica Mars is much more than a teen show, and the noir elements that it includes, as well as strong acting performances, excellent writing and its overall style make it accessible to and enjoyable for a wide range of ages. We think that your network is suited for this show because of its broad-ranging demographic.
We urge you to consider our request, have faith in Veronica Mars and screen it in a time slot that does not isolate it from potential viewers.
