1. Canadian taxpayers could have saved millions had there been a mechanism in place that would have guaranteed that allegations over what is now known as the Sponsorship Scandal been investigated properly and without employee reprimand, reprisal or dismissal.
2. The Government of Canada should protect Canadian taxpayers by providing a means for employees of the Public Service to voice concern or make allegations over wrongful acts or omissions in the workplace in confidence and without reprimand;
3. The Government of Canada should protect employees of the Public Service from retaliation for voicing concern or making allegations over wrongful acts or omissions in the workplace;
We, residents of Canada, call upon the Prime Minister to enact legislation that will protect employees of the Public Service who have either voiced concerns or made allegations over wrongful acts or omissions in the workplace.
