Dear Sirs and Madams:

By now, you would be aware of the outrage created by the Willing Willie episode where a six-year-old child, Jan-jan, was goaded to do a lewd dance on public television. You would also be aware of the details of the incident, so we shall simply express now why we are so angered by it.

The child was a minor and was allowedsome would say compelledto do something so undignified on public television. Not only was this a cruel thing to do to an innocent child, it was also a corruption on our own children, who may have been watching the show. After all, Willing Willie is a primetime program.

We understand that the shows host, Mr. Willie Revillame, has already apologized for his irresponsibility in allowing such a thing to happen in his show. (In fact, he not only allowed it, he encouraged it.)

Our huge concern, however, is this: this is not the only time that Mr. Revillame has acted irresponsibly and with adverse results. It is a matter of routine for Mr. Revillame to exploit the weak and the poor in his show. His treatment of his female co-hosts is disgustingly unchivalrous, bordering on sexual harassment. He makes a bad example of humanity, and unfortunately, his popularity makes him a powerful example as wella powerfully bad example.

This we all know: Jan-jan is not the first person he has harmed through his irresponsibility, and Jan-jan will not be the last. Our countrys youth, who are watching at home, are all unwitting victims and will continue to be night after night, unless Mr. Revillame is stopped -- unless you stop him -- by your withdrawal of support for his show.

We are not addressing our concerns to Mr. Revillame because we neither need nor want another apology from him. He has already given us so many.

We are addressing you, for without you, he would not be there. You have the power to right things.

As fellow parents, as fellow citizens who believe in decency and chivalry towards women, children, and the poor and weak in society, we ask you to withdraw your support for Willing Willie and Mr. Revillames other shows, channel your funds towards more worthy television programs, and do your part in making the world a more clean and decent place.

We look forward to seeing positive action from you in this regard.
