Airsoft In Evanston

This petition is directed from the citizens of Evanston, Illinois to the police. We feel that any air gun, gas gun, spring gun, or electric gun not exceeding 700 FPS (feet per second) should be legal.

Reason 1. Any rifle, handgun, or other form of air gun, that is non explosive propelled and not exceeding 700 FPS (feet per second) cannot cause physical harm to any property, and can cause little or no harm to a human being.

Reason 2. Any air gun, be it rifle, handgun, or other, have a blaze orange tip on the barrel, thus making them recognizable as a non-lethal weapon.

Reason 3. The damage to property from air guns were caused by metal "bb" projectiles. The air guns that should be legalized would only use a hard plastice "bb" that does not take any higher form than a standard 6mm.

These reasons enclosed can surely prove that air guns are not dangerous, and should not be illegal. Thank you for reading.
