We the students, teachers, parents, and members of the Beth Tfiloh community, respectfully petition any installation of a stricter dress code or uniform policy, beginning the 2005-2006 school year. We believe that by attending Beth Tfiloh we show our willingness to incorporate ourselves into the Baltimore Jewish community. While we understand the need for a professional atmosphere that is conducive to learning, we believe that the current dress regulations (that of the 2004-2005 school year) are more than ample. With regard to any additional yarmulke policy, we recognize that Beth Tfiloh is a religious institution and we respect any change in this policy. However, we feel that adolescence is a time where expressing ones self is both necessary and beneficial to the development of an individual. At Beth Tfiloh, diversity has always been an emphasized strength. Please don't take that away.
