Blood Collection Services

Capitol Health has introduced changes to our blood collection services that will drive the private collection clinics to close. A: They want to change the pickup time by courier from 3 hours after blood is taken to 1.5 hours to be delivered to hospital. This will require twice the courier service which will drive prices up for you, the patient. The current process is workable and efficient. B: Blood collection previously collected on Stat holidays are no longer accepted. C: Blood collections on evening and weekends may no longer be accepted. This means shift workers and the working public will have to take more time off work to get their blood work done. Private blood collectors are trying to make blood/specimen collection both safe per the Capital Health Standards and convenient for the general public. The persent services provided by Capital Health cannot keep up with the demand therfore we provide an option for the public that is both flexible and far reaching. Increasing our costs and making it more difficult to provide service is not in the best interest of your health care. The alternative is that the public can go to one of three Capitol Health facilities in the metro area and wait at least 2 to 3 hours in an overcrowded waiting facility for services that we now provide. The choice is yours. Are you going to stand up for your rights or let Capital Health take over this convenience and service so that they can pad their own pockets with the collection funds?
