Buffalo Bills Uniform Change

Dear Mr. Levy:

The fans at Buffalorange.com are truly thankful for your commitment to the success of the Buffalo Bills. We know that with your stewardship, the team will once again rise to prominence and distinction within the NFL community and ultimately achieve the coveted Lombardi trophy.

Thank-you.

However, in the spirit of progress and improvement, we, the undersigned, do have one request of you and the Buffalo Bills' decision-making team. We earnestly request a stylistic redesign of the Buffalo Bills uniform in time for the 2008-2009 NFL season.

We offer you two primary reasons for the request:

Firstly, and arguably of lesser importance, the design scheme of the uniform (most notably, the "away" battle attire) is profoundly unattractive. The color arrangement is scattered, confused and disorganized. It begs for cohesion.

Secondly, the uniform never found true consonance with the Buffalo Bills culture, community, and history. This discordance may be the result of the change-maker. The uniform was changed from the design that attended the Buffalo Bills' most successful and productive NFL campaigns. That uniform had history and meaning. It aroused profound emotion within Buffalo Bills fans.

Unfortunately (and to many, inappropriately) the uniform was abruptly preempted. Most regrettably, the change was effectuated by someone theretofore unaffiliated with the great history of the team.

If a change was to be made, it should have been made by you. Now you have that opportunity.

Although a request for a uniform redesign may seem trivial at first glance, it is truly anything but. The uniform substantively distinguishes one team from the other. It empowers the wearer with the right and ability to take the field each Sunday on behalf of the fans, the organization and the alumni. It confers upon each athlete the history, success, struggle and testimony of each Buffalo Bill that came before him.

Because a uniform is of such great import, it should be both endearing and palatable.

With hopes that these words reach you, we ask that you consider our proposal. (LW)
