Torontonians, like citizens around the world, are suffering from a continuing economic crisis that threatens our fiscal stability and our quality of life. On Saturday, October 20, 2011, “Occupy Toronto” started a peaceful protest that continues through this day, and more than a hundred additional “Occupy” protests have taken root around the world.
The “Occupy” demonstrations are a rapidly growing movement with the shared goal of urging people to peacefully assemble and occupy public space in order to create a shared dialogue by which to address the problems and generate solutions for an economically distressed world.
We are asking our fellow citizens to show their solidarity to the Occupy movement by signing this petition to help us gain support from City Council.
