Credit Card Usury

Credit card scores affect whether you can get credit, and in certain cases affect whether or not you are able to obtain a job. With times as hard as they are today and people losing their jobs. Keeping up with credit card payments are not only stressful but for many may be impossible.

Thanks to the 1978 U.S. Supreme Court decision, 'the sky is the limit' on rate policies dominated by credit cards. Less than half of all U.S. States cap their credit card interest rates, and most credit card issuers are based in states with out usury laws or interest rate caps on credit cards.

In an effort to help the economy and preventing businesses from determining our future for job placement because of our FICO score, this petition is an urge to congress to stop credit card companies from bypassing State usury laws and forcing them to put a cap on all interest rates created by credit card companies and a effort to stop businesses from obtaining our FICO scores for job placement.

We as hard working Americans should be honored with a job because of our merit in previous job history and accomplishments, not by our financial situation. Capping interest rates and preventing companies from using our FICO score would help to put the money and security back in the economy.
