We, the undersigned residents of Dutchess County, demand that our County Executive and our County Legislators take immediate action to implement a Property Tax Cap.
There is no more pressing issue than reviving the sagging economy and creating a more hospitable environment in the Hudson Valley for middle class New Yorkers, taxpayers and small business owners. The county's priority must be to end the mounting and crushing burden of unfunded mandates, fight for a property tax cap, and support efforts to enact an income-based circuit breaker to make the system more equitable.
