End the Rape of Justice

Since in cases of rape and sexual assault
o The conviction rate for recorded rape is only 5.7\%
o Despite the introduction of legal changes, specialist units and further training, many of those paid to enforce the law on rape are not doing this job
o The police often do not collect all the evidence or lose or misinterpret it
o The Crown Prosecution Service routinely turn down strong cases and often prosecute rape incompetently and negligently
o Judges exercise their own sexism, racism and other prejudice, allowing victims to be put on trial in court (including through the illegal use of their sexual history), misdirecting juries and reinforcing prejudices they may bring
o Incompetent professionals, who would be disciplined or even sacked in other professions, are not dismissed and rarely disciplined in any way.
o Women and girls are endangered by the refusal of the criminal justice system to effectively prosecute violent criminals, i.e. rapists
o Men who are allowed to get away with rape go on to rape again and sometimes to kill

We the undersigned believe that police officers, prosecutors and judges who have shown themselves to be sexist, racist or otherwise prejudiced against victims of sexual violence, or to be negligent and incompetent in the prosecution of rape cases, should be publicly disciplined, moved off rape cases or sacked, depending on the nature of their offence.

We the undersigned believe thats the only way those responsible for the criminal justice system will be held to account, so women, children and men are finally protected from the violent crime of rape.
