Equal funding for Reading Pride and other organisations in Reading

We the undersigned believe that the current administration at Reading Borough Council do not demonstrate full equality in awarding funding to community organisations that fight discrimination and work towards building a safer town for all of the communities that live here in Reading. The LGBT community in Reading has not been fully supported by the current administration and this is apparent when you compare funding given to organisations such as the Reading Pride charity and the Reading Council for Racial Equality. We realise that the chair and director of RCRE did support the current administration canvassing in Redlands Wards for the 2011 local election, which was coincidently prior to an existing decision to cut funding being reversed, and believe that funds awarded to community organisations such as Reading Pride should be equal to other groups, events and organisations regardless of political allegiance. Discrimination has no place in Reading.
