Keep Tuition Increases Reasonable for Graduate and Professional Students

To the Board of Regents of the University of Maryland System,
We ask that you re-consider the proposed 6.2 and 6.8\% caps on graduate and professional student tuition for in-state and out of state students respectively. We ask that you strive to create closer parity between the undergraduate tuition increase and the graduate tuition hike. We ask this because we have had continual increases in our tuition for the past four years while the undergraduates have not. We have seen increased debt without increased results. We understand these are tough economic times, but you are slowly pricing our schools out of competition with nearby, better ranked schools. These increases are also preventing many professional students from entering public interest work because of the significant debt they have incurred.
Please do not allow our tuition to increase this substantially in the coming years.
