***Will be submitted to Management/HR once at least 100 signatures have been collected***
We, the undersigned, would like to request that the company dress code for office employees be modified to permit the wearing of shorts - properly cleaned, pressed and subject to other relevant dress code regulations already in force - during the summer months.
We feel that this change will promote employee comfort and increase morale, thereby fostering an even more positive work environment and thus enhancing employee motivation and productivity, while still maintaining a high standard of professionalism and respect overall.
Therefore, we suggest the following change of wording (WITH OUR CHANGE/ADDITION WRITTEN IN CAPITAL LETTERS):
"Unacceptable Office Attire
· Athletic wear (tracksuits, warm-up suits, workout clothing, exercise tights, and leggings)
· Hooded sweatshirts
· Soiled and/or ripped clothing
· Hats or caps
· SHORTS MORE THAN 3 INCHES ABOVE THE KNEE, AND/OR MORE THAN 2 INCHES BELOW THE KNEE
· Short skirts OR CUT-OFFS
· Revealing tops
· Clothing with inappropriate writing or advertising
· Beach or casual sandals (i.e. flip flops, crocs)
· Jeans (acceptable only on days designated as 'Casual Days' for participating departments)
Note: Employees, who are inappropriately dressed in the opinion of management, may be sent home and are required to return to work in acceptable attire. This time away will be considered personal time off without pay. "
We appreciate your consideration in this matter.
Thank you for your attention.
