Dear Honourable Brad Duguid, Minister of Energy:
I would like to offer my support for risk free residential solar energy. I am a resident of Ontario and a few months ago I signed up with an aggregator.
I am excited to be able to participate in the Green Energy Act. The CFIT program (commercial aggregators Feed in Tariff), as announced by the OPA on Feb 1,2011, will enable home owners in my neighborhood to make a valuable contribution to solar generation and to provide clean, renewable power to Ontario. The CFIT allows all Ontarians to take part in the Green Energy Act, not just those with access to capital.
Unfortunately, we were informed by our CFIT supplier that they have been waiting for months to get the green light from the authorities to proceed with our installation, as the CFIT program has yet not been officially opened for applications. NOW is the time to ensure that our Government commitment to renewable energy stays strong, especially in light of an upcoming election. For that reason, I am asking the Ontario government to please show its support and commitment to this thriving industry and open the CFIT program now!
