Proposition to Reinstate the Right of Quotes in the 2008-2009 Harker Upper School Yearbook

We the Class of 2009 would like to strongly express the removal of senior quotes from the forthcoming yearbook for the 2008-2009 academic year. We find it extremely unfair and wrong that our right to express ourselves one last time to the rest of our student brethren and instill in them knowledge in memorable parting words to be stripped, especially after spending countless days, hours, and nights with The Harker Community. Furthermore, the fact that the design aspect of the yearbook is placed above the students' creative minds is somewhat troublesome. It is wrong that something so technical should be put ahead of something so abstract.
While the alternative of having the quotes placed in the back of the yearbook (for a fee) has been put forth, does it not strike you as concerning that we are throwing words of wisdom from the departing class as a sort of ragtag ending to a four year-long trek of student achievements, accomplishments, and memories?
Some of us have been working on this quote for years, dreaming of what it may be, how it may help somebody on a bad day, or inspire them to do something. It's because that's what these quotes did for us; they inspired us. We wish to pass that wisdom on.
