Quanto's Law

On the morning of October 7th 2013 in Edmonton, Quanto the Police Service Dog was fatally stabbed by a suspect while preforming his duty. The man, on top of all his other charges, only recieved a simple Animal Cruelty charge for the killing of this K9 Officer of the Law.

The Goal of this Petition is quite simple, but important all the same. Protection for Police Sevice Dogs is a must, as these incredibly intelligent animals are trained to stare death in the face, and accept it without so much as flinching. Should you kill one of these very important members of the Police force, all you will recieve is an Animal Cruelty Charge, which compaired to the killing of an Officer of the Law is a very minor punishment. 

This Petition is to push the Canadian Government into passing a law that will treat Police Service Dogs with the same respect that the Legaslature treats Police Officers, as well as give them the Title they deserve as K9 Police Officers. Canadian Law does not view these Service Dogs as Police Officers, even though they are just as important to the service as every Police Officer on the Force.

Quanto's Law would prevent more Police Service Dogs from being killed in the line of duty without the proper justice being served. They are as good as a Police officer, and are loved and cared for by there family and friends just as much. Stop the Government from treating them like an expendable Resourse that deserves no respect for putting it's life on the line everyday.
