We the undersigned, alumni and current students of Florida Atlantic University, respectfully but also sternly wish to protest the Universitys decision to deny Dr. Mark Frezzo, Associate Professor of Sociology, tenure and ask that the tenure committee re-evaluate and revise their current ruling in this matter. Dr. Frezzo is a dynamic, passionate and committed instructor who supports his students and university at every level: A strong professor, sponsoring student clubs, creating and maintaining the Peace Studies Program, and serving on many student and university committees. On a professional level, Dr. Frezzos research is cutting edge work. His examination of mass mobilization of social movements and his research on the economic policies of global populist governments provide critical insight into strategies that are currently redefining and redirecting globalization. For these reasons and many more, the undersigned formally petitions the tenure committee at Florida Atlantic University, and request that the committee reconsiders and revises their decision, thereby rewarding Dr. Mark Frezzo. We collectively feel that by denying Dr. Frezzo tenure, the University is not only limiting the career of a talented professor and researcher, but it is also harming the Florida Atlantic Community as a whole.
