We, the undersigned are disturbed by the comments made by Kenneth Clarke suggesting that there are varying degrees of rape. We find these comments to be wholly unacceptable and fear that they will discourage victims of sexual assault from reporting attacks. We feel that it is inappropriate for a person with these views to be Secretary of State for Justice and ask that he be removed from this post
