WHEREAS, at Soddy Daisy High School there is a Junior Miss pageant but no equivalent pageant for males; and
WHEREAS, thousands of dollars in scholarships are given away at Soddy Daisy High School's Junior Miss pageant; and
WHEREAS, not giving equal opportunities for males and females is gender discrimination; and
WHEREAS, there are many students who would participate in or attend such a pageant for males; and
WHEREAS, many students do not approve of the "Mr. Homecoming" event nor take it seriously.
WE, THE UNDERSIGNED, HEREBY REQUEST that Soddy Daisy High School create an annual Junior Mr. pageant.
