St. Edward's University - Parking enforcement

The police department at St. Edwards University seems to only be interested in issueing parking tickets. They have people out 24/7 ticketing anyone and everyone they can for any petty violation.





I, for instance, received 5 parking tickets within a 24 hour period when I moved into a new dorm building and was not aware I had to get a different permit. They were going to boot my car within a 24 hour period and I had no idea. The tickets just piled up on the windshield. Some of my tickets were issued 30 minutes apart from one another. This is just not right.





The parking police are on a power trip and this needs to be stopped. There is no reason to give out almost any of these tickets. If they laid off some of their parking police they would not have to write so many tickets to pay their wage.





I am a new student to St. Edwards and have literally gotten about 13 parking tickets since the start of school. They were giving me several tickets when school first started because I did not have a permit. St. Edwards could not tell me if I had a dorm and the parking police refused to issue me a permit until I could tell them if I was living on-campus or off-campus.





We had a discussion in class about the parking police and every single student had received a parking ticket. The visiting professors even admitted they had gotten tickets for parking.





Please, St Edward's administration, do something about this problem. We're college students. We don't have the money to pay for these tickets when they are nothing serious. Please be more lenient with the parking tickets and shift the resources to something else.
