Please stop the proposed variances to the R-Residential Sign District that we live in. We don't want to change our neighbourhood to allow 24-hour noise and undesirable activity. The signs will light up at night, pouring light into our windows. Help keep our community residential.
Proposed Signs: The applicant has proposed to install two inlluminated roof signs, each containing two sign faces, displaying static and readograph copy on the north and east elevations. The proposal also includes six wall signs, five of which are illuminated and all are displaying static copy located on the east, south, southwest and west elevations. The proposed signs will identify the gas station, "Petro-Canada" and the eating establishments, "A&W" and "Neighbours" at this address.
Summary of Variances Required:
Two of the proposed signs are roof signs, which are not permitted in the R-Residential Sign District. Six of the proposed wall signs are also located on a premises containing a gas bar and eating establishment, whereas the Sing By-law only permits wall signs on a premises containing a school, place of worship, nursing home or community centre.
