This is in regard to the stray dog controlling and anti-rabies program.
The program envisaged that the dogs will be sterilised,dewarmed,completely cured and left back at their respective places .Only the ferocious dogs and dogs suffering with incurable diseases will be killed.
But in actual practice all the dogs are being killed .Why should all the dogs be prone to death because of a few insane dogs? Who is questioning this?
Daily the dog vans go around in the city, catch all dogs found in streets and then put them to death the very next morning and sell away the skins and bones .This i have personally witnessed...
In very few days dogs are going to become extinct .This is a predicted fact.
Do the dogs have no place to live on the streets of the earth ?Very soon dogs are either found as pets in any of the houses or in the Zoos .That would be the most pathetic thing-to see a common domestic animal in zoo ,because it is no more found in our daily lives-on streets.
The government must be aware that not in all the states the dogs are being killed like this .The respective governments have set up animal shelters in collaboration with non-governmental organisations (for eg. the Guwahati govt is in tie up with PFA organisation)
Why is our government not able to take such step?
