Before it's too late, we need to take a stand against this injustice.
Marriage is a right, not a heterosexual privallege, and those individuals coming to Canada to express their ability to live as equals should not be turned away.
Helen Kennedy said it perfectly - “It is indefensible for the government of Canada to play politics with people’s human dignity.”
Not only is gay marriage legal in Canada, we have been practicing ceremonies for foreign homosexual couples from various countries for years. Is it appropriate or sane to tell someone who has been legally married per the laws of our government for seven years that they're no longer married because our Prime Minister has personal prejudice?
Sign this pettition if you believe that all human beings should be treated equal, as they are required to be by the terms of our Charter of Rights and Freedoms. Sign, if you believe as I do, that homosexuality is just another thing to love about someone, as opposed to something to be feared or condescended.
Sign if you're a person, like all of the people all over the world who will be devastated by this completely uncalled for decision made on be half of, but without consulting, the people of Canada.
Lets make sure we can still be proud of our Country. Protest this abomination.
