Michael Bichard has suggested that the UK government should require retired people to work in return for their pensions. This ignores the fact that people receiving a pension have already paid for it.

Michael cannot be unaware of this contradiction; pensions have been paid for by the recipients. They are not a form of public benefit payment; they are the completion of a contract. If there is a problem with this system the people who run it are guilty of incompetence or fraud.

Michael is clearly attempting to shift the blame for an upcoming shortfall onto the victims of that shortfall. He is one of the people who was in power during the period when companies regularly raided their employees’ pension funds and yet did nothing about it.

In my opinion he is unfit to hold public office. I am therefore publishing this petition to have him removed from public life.
