We, the residents of Titusville in Brevard County are opposed to the Height Amendment to Municipal Charter of Titusville, Florida, prohibiting building heights exceeding 35 feet.
This proposed amendment will create an atmosphere that is not good for business and is bad for our natural environment. While the idea of limiting building height may seem like a good idea to create a small town feel, the consequences of this amendment far outweigh the benefits.
We oppose the amendment because:
Titusville does not want sprawl that which cant go up, goes out. This is not good for the environment or for people in Titusville.
Titusville does not want an increase in the cost of public services like water, sewer, libraries, parks and other amenities that will result if the amendment is passed. Titusville already has some of the highest sewer and water costs in Florida.
Titusville needs affordable, workforce housing. This amendment, if passed, will limit dense, affordable housing, which tends to be tall rather than wide.
Titusville taxpayers will have to pay for the lawsuits and damages if this amendment is passed.

Titusville needs to grow, this small town mind set has got to change. There is no where left to grow in central Fl. We are next and we need it.This 35' amendment is just another way of trying to stop the growth. And I for one am getting tired of the same

Why is this City always tring to limit the potential for growth? I am tired of having to drive out of town to shop and eat and by prohibiting building heights to Any set height we also are stopping growth. Get over it people we are in the 21st Century!

I signed because when I asked what area it affected the lady who was taking signatures told me it was only about limiting height on the riverfront.
