Westlife releases in Australia

We, the undersigned, are dismayed that Westlife's new album, Face to Face, is not being released here in Australia. We believe their music has the potential to be embraced by all Australians and would appreciate that they are given the chance to show Australians what they can do. Surely, the music Westlife has already made speaks volumes; 13 UK Number One singles, 18 top 5 UK hits, over 35 million albums sold world wide, a loyal fan base from all corners of the world.

We understand they are not a "priority" to Sony BMG in Australia as they haven't "set the charts alight" so to speak. But that's recently and that's because their last album wasn't released here. Their last few singles weren't released here. What about their cover of Uptown Girl reaching number 3 on the Australian Charts? The top 20 successes they have had with past hits such as "Flying Without Wings", "If I Let You Go," "Swear it Again" and funnily enough, there are a huge number of people around Australia that also know tunes such as "My Love", "World of Our Own" and their cover of "Mandy."

We ask you to just give Westlife the chance to have their music heard out here, release the album and singles, which we would appreciate the chance to buy, very much. As we have offered in the past, as fans, we are willing to take on a promotion role as well. We would be happy to dedicate our spare time to help try and raise Westlife's profile in Australia to what is was. We would appreciate the chance to begin our work and not be fobbed off.

By signing this petition, we would like every employee at Sony BMG Australia to know we are disappointed and angry. We would like this rectified as we would all like to spend our hard earned Australian dollars and to ask the question, why can our neighbours in New Zealand get this album release where as we can't? Why do we have to spend our money in other countries to buy this album? The Australian fans are fed up that "Westlife's record company" in Australia just doesn't care. Fans all over the world are shocked that Westlife's Australian record company doesn't care about a band on their label. A band they are meant to support, promote and help. A band with such potential and a band that has re-written history countless times, more so than some Australian artists. We wouldn't stand for this to happen to Australian artists overseas, why does it occur here? It truly is unbelievable to everyone.
