Why are Canadian politicians selling out our natural resources to foreign companies?

Why are Canadian politicians selling out our natural resources? What is it about the politicians in Canada that makes them want to sell off our natural resources to foreign companies?! Mining companies from Brazil and Europe now have control over our metal mines. There are questions right now about allowing Chinese companies buying oil sands in the Western provinces. We sell our gas and oil to the Americans and despite the fact that Canada has fossil fuels, Canadians are paying a high price at the gas pumps. Canada can be a strong country. We have an huge amount of natural resources that WE SHOULD be in control of. We have a smart, skilled workforce that could be producing OUR OWN products and creating jobs. We could be prosperous! Why should we pay high prices for products whose materials originally came from Canada but got manufactured in a foreign country by foreign companies? Why is our government stupid to sell our natural resources to foreign companies who then sells the natural materials to other foreign companies to make products to sell back to us?? Is it to suck up to other foreign governments or are the politicians getting a kick back for it? I believe in Canada and we can be strong if our politicians didn't sell us out!
