4Kids Entertainment Dubbing

I am an anime fan. Not a CARTOON fan. Im not going to sit here and allow good quality animes be destroyed by name-changes and Americanization. First, they got Pokemon. Okay, not a problem with that; Pokemon was MADE for kids. We all liked it at once and didnt really care if they changed Kasumi to Misty. Then they got their hands on Yu-Gi-Oh!...okay, not THAT bad. But geez, they made Anzu even more annoying than she already is. They didnt even bother dubbing the REAL first season. Now its all about dueling. Every second of it. Its really bullcrap. I even heard rumors beforehand that they were going to change Malik into a girl and/or name him/her TERRENCE. A girl named Terrence. Yeah. Im sure. Okay, so they pretty much crapped up Yu-Gi-Oh! And made it completely for kids. Now heres the part that threw the hand grenade on my behalf. Shaman King. They ruined it. Completely. The voices arent bad, and sure, they let someone (either Horohoro or Yoh, cant quite remember) say the word jackass, but thats not the point. The point is they completely changed it. The plot is basically the same, only theres less violence. My main purpose for loathing the dub, though, is as follows Mortimer, Rio, Lenny, Trey Racer, Corey, Lee Pai-Long, Tamara, Zeke, Chloe, and etc. Who ARE these people? The shaman Im familiar with are as follows Manta, Ryu, Ren, Horohoro, Kororo, Li Pyron, Tamao, Hao, and Morphin. (Also, they kept En Taos name the same, but they changed him from Ren and Juns father to their uncle, for no apparent reason whatsoever.) Me and my friend even joked around that they would change Lysergs name to Jimmy; then when I saw they changed Morphin to Chloe, I nearly choked. Thank GOD hes still Lyserg. Anyway, enough about how horrible they changed Shaman King to. Lets get on the real subject. Their future projects that we need to prevent from happening. Tokyo Mew Mew...no, wait, HOLLYWOOD Mew Mew. Enough said. From what I read they basically said the kids watching their shows dont believe its in Japan. Really stupid, if you ask me. Ignorant, as well. The only reason they WOULDNT believe its in Japan is because of how horribly they dub it. What are they going to do to Ichigo, change her into a giant strawberry? I also heard lots of rumors that they have licencing rights to dub Naruto. Good God. Enough said right there as well. Theyd completely ruin it. Theyd have to copy and paste three episodes together to make one, with all the censorship. Im not going to sit around and let this happen. Its like the apocalypse for the true anime fans. 4Kids slogan is We know what KIDS like! Yeah, kids, not anime fans. Leave the anime to other dubbing companies (besides DIC, they have the same problem) and if nobody dubs them then so be it, theres always a thing called subtitles. Personally, I prefer to buy my DVDs with both the original Japanese dialogue and subtitles and also the English dubbed voices, preferably in the same DVD. 4Kids is ruining this for me. Yu-Gi-Oh! And Shaman King have no hope for English in my anime collection. I can only pray that this wont happen to Mew Mew, Naruto, and anything else they happen to get their hands on. Thanks for your time.
