TO DATE, NO RFP PROCESS HAS TAKEN PLACE DESPITE THE RECOMMENDATION OF TWO OF THE ENTITIES INTERESTED IN THE PROJECT!! WE FIND THIS AN OUTRAGEOUS BREACH OF SERVICE TO THE TAX PAYERS OF DODGE CITY AND FORD COUNTY.
Dodge City and Ford County tax payers will be paying for this project for many years to come and we therefore demand the best possible use of our tax money! The only way to ensure that this nearly $40 Million dollar project is done well is to put it out to RFP from potential developers, architects, and contractors.
The city of Dodge City has a standing policy of requiring the bid process for all expenditures in excess of $10 Thousand dollars. A project costing nearly $40 Million of our hard earned tax dollars MUST undergo the most rigorous RFP process possible and we will not stand for less!
WE FIND THE CURRENT PLAN OF THE CFAB TO FORGE AHEAD WITH A RECOMMENDATION TO THE CITY AND COUNTY COMMISSIONS TO AWARD A CONTRACT IN THE TOTAL ABSENCE OF THE RFP PROCESS TO BE MORALLY AND FISCALLY IRRESPONSIBLE IF NOT CLOSE TO CRIMINAL!
Our elected officials can still put a stop to this travesty of public trust by stopping everything immediately and directing the development of one or more RFPs for the Dodge City Special Events Center.
