Abolish diesel tax for passenger cars in Singapore

Currently, the Singapore government imposes a hefty diesel tax on passenger cars to limit their usage. This tax is four times the equivalant of the tax of a similar-sized petrol counterpart.
Their basis for this ruling is that diesels are more pollutive than petrol cars. However, modern diesels have been proven to be more frugal and also less pollutive, unlike the olden days where such a policy actually makes sense.
Therefore, this petition is to encourage the Singapore government to abolish this diesel tax and allow diesel passenger cars to be imported without this heavy restriction.
