We, the undersigned, believe that it is utterly ridiculous to ban the parking of motor vehicles at a public place such as the Amherst Town Library. With the town offering no alternative as to where teens should go - it places teenagers in a potentially dangerous situation in which they're forced to drive the entire night. Since there are a handful of teens that decide to engage in risky behavior such as the consumption of alcohol, one positive side of this is that they refuse to drive while performing such acts. With the town eliminating the use of parking spots, it puts teens in a dilemma no one should ever have to face. Aside from this - there are many teens that do not participate in such behavior, however simply don't find it necessary to have 4 people with 4 cars. In a time where gas prices are anything but cheap, teens are saving money and helping the environment at the same time. Taking away public parking for teens is the first step towards a series of future problems. Please reconsider this new law immediately.
