Apple Users For Location Anonymity

It is apparent that Apple is recording and storing the location information it detects when your iPhone or iPad 3G (running iOS 4) accesses voice/data. This information is stored in an unencrypted file with location and date/time information. The recording and storage of this information is frightening and a potentially an affront to the civil liberties of Apple's users (the possibility that such information could be used in a court of law is particularly frightening). Moreover, the information seems to carryover from iTunes backups/restores of iPhones and iPads.

Join me in demanding that Apple issue a software update in which this logging feature is removed. Apple should also institute strict policies for its App Developers that prevents them from recording and storing location information beyond that which is required for the duration of the specific user session.
