Atheists Need to Calm Down a Little Bit

We, the Undersigned Atheists, ask the militant atheists to calm down about religion. The lawsuits, militant complaints, and blatant disregard for the First Amendment in the very name of the First Amendment are not helping the cause of logic and skepticism at all. They just make the rest of us atheists look like asses. Quit it.

We, the Undersigned, share a frustration with blind faith. However, the simple dismissal of faithfully held beliefs in the name of Science does not advance logical thinking any more than religion itself. Faith must be brought down by logic, not merely replaced by it. The militant "conversion" of the faithful to atheism is no better than religious conversion.

We, the Undersigned, ask the atheist community to halt organized attacks on relgious organizations. Attacks of character and attempted legal actions do absolutely nothing in the name of atheism. Martyrdom and persecution only strengthen faith.

We, the Undersigned, demand that our fellow atheists desist with these militant actions against religion. Appearing radical makes us so. We do not want to be associated with this kind of attitude.

We, the Undersigned, reiterate and conclude: militant atheists must calm down because they're making the rest of us look like assholes.
