Boycott Gamestop - Wii & PS3 pre-orders

With the announcement of the Nintendo Wii and PS3 the rush is on to get Pre-orders for these high demand gaming systems. GameStop is running a test pre-order system in Hawaii that involves the trading in of $50.00 worth of games or gaming equipment in order to pre-order the Wii or PS3 systems.

Their reasoning for this is to stop the fiasco they had when the Xbox 306 was released and to stop people from pre-ordering and never picking up their purchase. During the Xbox 360 release Gamestop did not want to give money back to those people that never pick up their pre-orders and gave them store credit instead. This caused many irate issues and they think that requiring only store credit to pre-order the new systems will solve this issue. Well they are wrong and in doing so this has opened a whole new can of worms with this recent announcement.

For those of us who do not trade in our old gaming equipment and games we are now being punished! We are not allowed to purchase pre-orders for the new systems. We are now forced to either trade in items from our collections, go out and buy cheap gaming equipment and hope there is enough for the $50.00 store credit required or camp out overnight waiting for a lotto ticket and hope our number gets picked to purchase one of the new systems.

We, the gamers of America, need to stand up and voice our opinions about this new pre-order system and stop it before it even gets started. We are calling for a Boycott to everything Gamestop until our voices have been heard by Gamestop and they stop this form of pre-selling the new systems. Please help our cause by signing our online petition, sending an email to Gamestop Public Relations and by calling Gamestop Customer Service and voicing your opinions.
