Bring Back Channel Z

We the avid followers of the former radio station "Channel Z" object
to your removal of the station and the replacement of it by the new
station "Kiwi FM".

We feel that there is no need for an entirely New Zealand music based
station as this misrepresents the quality of other international
music. Channel Z already had the highest percentage of New Zealand
music of any radio station and we feel theat the level of New Zealand
music played was sufficient.

We object to the repetition of the same songs and artists due to the
lack of volume in New Zealand artists. While we acknowledge the
support of more local bands we again feel that the Channel Z unsigned
section did this sufficiently in the past or at least could have been
expanded to support more bands.

We also see little reason for the replacement of the former presenters
of Channel Z. We feel that even after nearly 3 months the new
presenters still seem unprofessional in comparison to the former
presenters.

The new prizes especially the Friday giveaway are cheap and
uninteresting. While this keeps in the New Zealand media tradition of
doing things on a shoe string budget we feel the former prize packs
such as the Friday ryder are more interesting.

The removal of some shows especially Late Night Talk back with Bomber
was unnecessary and only lessens the appeal of the new station. New
Zealanders have always been passionate about bringing about positive
change and standing up on the world stage despite our small size. Talk
back was a way of encouraging this among young people as shown by the
way two teenagers are currently petitioning the largest independent
media corporation in New Zealand. The removal of this show makes the
station less "kiwi" and seems pointless, especially given the lack of
interesting programming it has been replaced by.

We feel the following changes are necessary:

1. The return late night talk back, its removal is "unkiwi" and its
replacement of the same late night show as every other day of the week
is disappointing to say the least.

2. The return of former presenters if possible if not to replace the
new presenters then to support them and raise the professional level
of the shows.

3. The return of non New Zealand music, even in a small percentage.
There is not enough New Zealand music to fill shows for long periods
of time. The shows now seem repetitive and less interesting than
before.

4. The return of the old prize packs, including the "Friday ryder" and
"The Circle of Sound"
