Recently Bovril have decided to remove Beef from Bovril. The drink's usual 40\% of beef stock has been replaced with a savoury yeast mix at the firm's Burton-on-Trent factory.
This move has been made in an effort to raise sales and to attract the veggie market. A move which in my mind is an absolute travesty. They claim that taste tests showed that 50\% preferred the new version and 10\% could not tell the difference. These people are wrong - it tastes disgusting. It is now essentially a runny version of marmite and all those connoisseurs of bovril know that marmite is a lesser product.
