We, the Undersigned, wish to petition Michael Chugg Entertainment and BMG/Jive Records Australia to include Australia in Britney Spears Onyx Hotel Tour 2004.
In Australia, In The Zone alone has so far produced two number one singles, Me Against The Music and Toxic, both reaching number one in their debut week and both receiving platinum (seventy thousand units sold) status. In The Zone itself reached number ten and also achieved platinum status.
Britneys first album, Baby One More Time, achieved at least one number one single and all three singles, Baby One More Time, Sometimes and (You Drive Me) Crazy, all achieved platinum status, with her first single achieving three times platinum and the second highest selling single of the year. The album was placed seventh in the end of year album charts and also achieved four times platinum.
Similar success with her next two albums, with two platinum singles, five gold (thirty-five thousand units sold) singles, one triple platinum album and one double platinum album. This is just a vague idea of how successful Britney is in our country, Australia.
We believe we deserve to witness the great spectacle that is, The Onyx Hotel, as we have never had the pleasure of seeing a full Britney Spears concert in our shores before. Her success should prove just how much we do really want to see her highly-acclaimed concert.
